Unless stated otherwise, all groups should be assembled at the start point by 0900, and launched by 0915 at the latest. Depending on the length of the ride, car poolers should have their boats set up and ready to leave the launch area a half-hour to a full hour before the launch time - call the Trip Leader to find out.

Sun 17  The Hui's 20th Anniversary Party! Pupus, prizes, old 8mm & video clips, dancing, music! Club paddle will launch from Kaneohe Yacht Club at 12:00 PM and head for the Sandbar. Doug will have his power boat available to tow kayaks back to KYC by 5:00 for chow & no-host drinks in the Longhouse. Swimming pool and hot showers available, sailboat rides for those so inclined. Bring potluck food, and there is a large outdoor grill. Bring pictures and slides of early paddles to share. There will be a reshowing of the film "Paddling My Own Canoe" about Audrey Sutherland's early exploits on Molokai

 Wed 18 Annual Hui Wa'a Kaukahi Christmas Party - Hosted at Hawaii Yacht Club this year. Pls note that this is the day after when we would normally have our regular meeting. Party starts at 5:30 pm and will go until they throw us out, prob. about 10 o'clock. Bring a potluck veggie dish, something to throw on the barbie, and a $5 to $10 grabbag gift for the Bag Grab gift exchange melee. There will also be a Photo Contest (pix have to taken this past year on a Club-sanctioned paddle) and the awarding of the Grand Prize Fish to the Prog. Fishing Tournament winner, whoever she is... :-)

NOTES:

Paddle ratings are for average weather and ocean conditions, and are often unscientifically assigned and arbitrary. It is up to each individual to assess the conditions prior to the time of launch in the light of their own experience and ability, and decide whether to go or not. If you decide to go, you must sign the trip roster and read the waiver. No signee, no kayakee. In the event of a Small Craft Advisory (SCA) or higher wind warning**, the Club-sponsored paddle is officially cancelled.

Trip leaders should get a copy of the release/waiver from Joe Hu at the Club meeting or click here for an online version you can print out.

"Steerage Committee" meetings are held once every three months, on the second Tuesday of the quarter, except where otherwise noted, at the Law Offices of Hu & Tsuji, Rm 910, 900 Fort Street Mall, Honolulu. These meetings are for the Officers and Advisory Board members to discuss business and decide future activities for the Club, and they are open to any Club member in good standing who has a paddling-related issue to be dealt with outside the forum of the General Meetings. Talk to any Club Officer for details.
